Colliding Parallel Universe Theory
Related
The following are subsets of various types of anomalous reports that may provide correlating data to CPU Theory. CPU Theory does not claim to be the cause for all claims of these various types of reports.
The Mandela Effect
The Mandela Effect is named after Nelson Mandela who died in December 5, 2013, but a good number of people claim that he was reported to have died in the 1980s during his 27 years in prison. The term was coined in 2009 by Fiona Broome when she created a website to detail her observations (Cuncic).
There have been other things, events, names/people, etc that have also come up to "support" the Mandela Effect.
Anecdotal Memory Anomalies
These examples are not treated as proof of CPU Theory. They are included because shared memory discrepancies are often discussed in relation to reality-shift claims. A useful research question is whether such reports cluster in time, geography, demographics, media exposure, or measurable environmental conditions. These are some anomalies that I, Jessie Desmond, have personally experienced.

Berenstein vs Berenstain Bears. I had a number of these books growing up and I recall it being spelled with an 'e'.

The film 'Shazaam' starring Sinbad. I remember this coming out around 1992 or 1993, roughly when I was in 5th or 6th grade. I didn't want to watch it because it looked like a really bad kids film, but I recall the trailers. When 'Kazaam' with Shaq came out in 1996, I was like "can't they come up with something original?"
-
Release date of colored ketchup. My mom bought a 2 pack (one purple, one green) from Sam's Club when I was in high school, either in 1999 or 2000. I recall this because I lived with my parents when she got it. According to the official release date, it wasn't produced until 2001. I was not living with my parents at this point.

LGBT marches and a riot in LA around 1993 or 1994. I clearly recall this being in the news when I was in middle school. I don't think anyone died, but people were injured and some arrested. It resulted in positive action for LGBT rights and more inclusivity in tv/film.

Fruit of The Loom logo. Cornucopia or only fruit? I remember, years ago, that it had fruit coming out of a cornucopia. Then, the cornucopia disappeared. I thought it was an updated logo. Apparently there was no cornucopia.

NASA, ESA, and ROSCOSMOS working together to create a small wheel-shaped space station in the late-80s/early-90s. I remember reading about this in 'Popular Science' and in 'OMNI' as a kid. I was very excited about it. The article mentioned various science labs, including one to study plants in space. The space station looked very much like a von Braun or Kubrick design, but with 4 big spokes.
In regards to the Colliding Parallel Universes Theory, this would be the result of equilibrium between parallel universes happening in real time. The question would be: why do some people remember?
Evolution & Observable Changes
Evolution generally takes a long time to occur. This is called phyletic gradualism and it takes roughly one million years. A species gradually changes over time, little by little, to better adapt to the environment around it (Uyeda). There is also punctuated equilibrium, where a species undergoes a considerable evolutionary change in a shorter period of time, around a few hundred thousand years, according to the fossil record.
Evolution has also been found to occur in rapid evolution, according to more recent studies. This is cause by environmental disruptions and can occur over years or decades, instead of thousands of years (Novak). Rapid Evolution could be an indicator of CPU Theory.
Aside from evolution is change. In this case it's observable changes: extreme climate change, sudden bursts of knowledge or thought or artistic movement, sudden innovation that seems to come out of nowhere, strangely high tension social emotion, and an increase in deja vu or mandela effect or anemoia or monachopsis.
According to NASA, extreme weather has been increasing, more rapidly in recent decades, since the 1950s. This includes high-tide flooding, marine heat waves, floods, heavy precipitation, heat extremes, wildfires, doughts, tropical cyclones (Logreira). The Center for Climate and Energy Solutions, tracks the extreme weather that NASA mentions, as well as winter storms and freezing.
Sudden bursts of knowledge or thought or artistic movement or innovation can be tracked pretty regularly, moreso than in time before, from about 1880 to the present. Some examples would be rapid development in transportation, rocketry development, the British Invasion in the 1960s led by the Beatles, sudden increase in serial killers in the 1970s, major computing development, atomic and nuclear development, internet and AI, and big art movements.
High-tension social emotion can also be an indicator of something going on. We have seen this with civil rights movements, political protests, the summer of love 1969, and socio-political tension of government vs people and government vs government.
These observable changes could be the result of radiation, increased EMF, changes in gravity, and changes in environment.
Wormholes, Portals, & Vortices
Throughout history, there have been locations of vortices or portals that have been reportedly used to travel to and from other worlds, though this concept is often considered legend or myth. These locations tend to reside at ancient sites, are almost always mixed into local legends, are considered ancient mystical sites, and have limited information about the use. Just to name a few locations: Dimensional door at Markawasi Stone Forest in Lima, Peru; Gate of the gods in Hayu Marca, Peru; Ranmasu Uyana stargate in Sri Lanka; vortices in Sedona, Arizona; various stonehenges across the globe.
Some vortices or portals seem to be naturally occurring and unnoticed until a person passes through one. There is a short story called "The Trouble in Crossing A Field" by Ambrose Bierce that covers this very topic. Also, most time slips occur in this particular way. Someone travels down a road and suddenly they're in a different time, they keep going, and they are suddenly back in the present. Vortices or portals would also account for unexplained disappearances/appearances, accounts of monsters, and time slips.
Wormholes (or Einstein-Rosen Bridges) connect two distant points by use of a "shortcut" or "bridge". Physicist John Archibald Wheeler theorized that such structures would be instable, more than likely to collapse almost instantaneously. But, other physicists have theories on stabilized wormholes that have inspired discussions on space travel and time travel (Ungvarsky).
In a curious case of similarities, the Montauk Project and Skinwalker Ranch both have similar data regarding some sort of wormhole or portal or vortex. Both locations have repeated sightings of strange black creatures, the use of L-band frequencies to activate the wormhole or portal or vortex (1.6 GHz for Skinwalker Ranch; 1.68GHz for Montauk; 425-450 MHz as 'window frequencies' for Montauk), and sightings of UFOs.
Unexplained Appearances & Disappearances
Another thing to consider, during equilibrium, are the sudden appearances and sudden disappearances of people that don't seem to make any sense. I want to give a shout out to David Paulides of Missing 411, who investigates strange disappearances of people. He has found that many go missing in national parks and/or near water. If they do reappear, then its either in an area that was previously searched, at a far greater distance than possible, or in some strange circumstances (like 20 miles from camp with no shoes/socks in the middle of winter). The people are often disoriented and have distorted perceptions of time.
Along with disappearances, there are cases of sudden appearances where people show up with no discernable background. Such cases include: the Woolpit children of the 12th century, Jophar Vorin appeared in Germany in 1850 claiming to be from Laxaria, John Allen Kuchar Zegrus appeared in Japan in 1954 with documents stating he was from Taured, and Rudolph Fentz reportedly jumped from 1876 to 1951 in New York City where he was hit by a vehicle. These are only 4 popular cases of sudden appearances.
Could these sudden disappearances and sudden appearances be the result of equilibrium at play? Perhaps people are being removed or added to the stronger universe during a CPU occurrence. Or possibly, these people are simply being affected by issues of time and are, therefore, a way to collect data during equilibrium.
Issues with Time
Issues with time comes in the form of time slips, time travel, time dilation, and time constriction. The greatest emphasis appears to be with time dilation and constriction. This is where people may experience "missing time" or a sudden quickness of time with time constriction. Time dilation is the expansion of time, where a person may assume hours have passed when only minutes have passed. The inclusion of time slips and time travel come with an increase amount of reports of such events during the CPU time frame of within 100-200 years.
